Jesse Simpson Creative Technologist & Sound Artist
Hello. Welcome. I'm a creative technologist and sound artist based in New York City. I'm a toolmaker, musician, artist, and designer working across software, electronics, sound, and whatever else I'm interested in at the time.
With backgrounds in music and technology, I create works that range from interactive installations to generative music systems, from custom hardware to embedded applications. My projects often involve real-time processing, algorithmic composition, and novel interfaces for musical expression.
My work has been featured in galleries, museums, performance venues, and educational institutions. I'm particularly interested in creating tools and systems that augment human creativity and the learning process, exploring how technology can enhance our natural creative abilities.
Creative Technology
Developing innovative tools and systems for creative expression, including browser-based applications, interactive installations, and custom hardware.
Sound Art
Creating immersive audio experiences that explore the relationship between sound, space, and human perception.
Algorithmic Composition
Developing systems that use mathematical and computational processes to generate musical content and artistic experiences.
Interactive Design
Creating responsive environments and interfaces that respond to human input and environmental conditions.
Education & Teaching
I'm passionate about sharing knowledge and empowering others to explore creative technology. Through workshops, educational programs, and collaborative projects, I help others discover their own creative voice through technology and art.
My educational work focuses on demystifying technology and making creative tools accessible to people from all backgrounds, emphasizing that technology should serve creative expression rather than constrain it.
Collaboration
I frequently collaborate with other artists, technologists, and researchers to create works that push the boundaries of what's possible. I believe in the power of interdisciplinary collaboration to create truly innovative experiences.
Whether working on music projects, developing new hardware interfaces, or designing interactive installations, my work is a continuous string of experimentation.
